Went with Tim to Margate and he spotted this Heron up on a gum tree!
Finally shot a Herron - so excited that I managed evn this shot in cloudy conditions and long distance using the 240mm.
This has really spurred me on to get the 300s and the 300mm F4 with tc1.4!

Nice BIF and timing with good details under the wings.
You need the 300 + the X1.4 converter for spring time :)
Couple of shot in our garden.
D300s and Nikon 70-300VR
No PP at all only resize.

Took the D300s for a test run today... must say im super impressed with the performance especially on higher ISO settings. Now I need a long lens!! :(

Very nice Carlos, crisp and sharp with excellent pose.
LOVING this camera! Especially the machine gun Continuous High mode
Took a few of a flying heron, spooked it when I got out of the car after taking some in car shots. Wanted to get closer, so DEF need a longer lens :p
Shots are close to 100% magnification.

More one my site Arthur and Carlos Plottier Photography - Home
Very good BIF with good eye contact and sharp beak.
The other ones in Arthur and Carlos Plottier Photography - Home are very good as well.
