That pic was 1/320,F5.0,iso5000.
It was a quick pic in very low light late in the day,not much good.
Been raining and overcast for the last week,so i haven't been able to get a good pic of them.I really want a BIF of them,but that is impossible in the recent weather conditions.

With that SS the birds should be sharper, crack the DOF to F11 and see what happens.
Reduce the ISO to about 400 if the conditions allow it. Perhaps at the ISO set up that you are using there is a bit of noise that will be make the image soft after cleaning.

well was playing with the soligor setup this morning trying to work out how to get there on the d7000 when two old mates rolled up
pity i had the aperture down to f/22 as i was playing around so it was under exposed big time...
wish i could have got it back to f/3.5 before they took flight ..
had to do a fair bit of pp so gave it that aged feeling to boot...

a shot i had time to take properly with the 200mm
handheld, no vr etc, manual everything...
what could i do to improve it?
