Arthur,we do get the blue faced honeyeaters,on occasions, but generally they are not common.Yes they do stand up to the miners.Miners here actually chase the pale headed rosellas around, but the king parrots have the better of them,as do the Rainbows.
We had whip birds breeding last year, but eventually the miners chased them away as well
Back to bird pics,Bytemrk, those are pretty good.
Very well capture Paul and it is sharp.
The whites in the head are a tad overexposed which it is a very common problem on these birds.
You can adjust that during PP, specially in the raw (nef) image.
You can select the area and adjust the exposure on it or select the withes and adjust them.
By selecting the whites you have to be very careful because it is a high sensitive adjustment and it can be overdone.
Do not do the adjustment on contrast because it destroy the original, do it on a new adjustment layer which allows you to do PP adjustments without upsetting the original image.
Which PP software are you using?
A couple of regulars around my yard.....
Chucaro, using photoshop CC,SWMBO does most of it.
i knew the head was slightly over exposed, but we didn't really know how to sort it.We will have a play and repost it.
Thanks for your advice.
We had a pair digging out an ant nest for the last week or so in our front yard.
Haven't seen them around for a couple of days.
Saw a broken egg under the nest today, grabbed the ladder and had a look, bloody possum has taken over the nest
Bit of sheet metal around the tree is the go,hopefully the birds return.
Not exactly birdlife ..................... but they do fly.
