This wasn't a big bird probably the same/similar size to a noisy miner.
They hung around in small groups too quite a social bird
White plumed honeyeater maybe?
We get them on the farm near Dirranbandi as well. They are pretty big, probably around 7" long.
Actually last time i was out there i found a dead one, easy to identify once it is in the hand.

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Thats them,i was comparing it to the smaller honeyeaters we get around here, such as Lewin.Noisy miner size is about right, but with a longer tail.
We often see them around the dams having a drink.Probably the most common honeyeater in that area. They hang around with Friar birds as well.

Nice portrait Paul, I missing some of the birds in Qld. The pale headed Rosella used to come to our garden to feed from the grevilleas.
And some more. You can tell I'm not up to you blokes standard as a photographer, ay, but they're just quick pics from our back yard.
