Hi MAx,
I've always just kept mine in a camera bag with it all together and just in the back seat area somewhere. So far no problems. Thats all Canon digital with L series glass and the little "hammer me" Olympus which I use so ofter.
G'day all
Has anyone had any damage as a result of corrugations?
I would think the bodies would be ok, but I can see a lense going out of alignment with some pounding. It's be a tad annoying if an expensive lense started back or front focusing after a trip.
I'm guessing they "should" be alright if in proper lense pouches & packed properly in the car, but what's everyone's experience?
Ignoring dust, that speaks for itself.
TIA & regards
Max P

Not recently, but in the past I have had lenses come to pieces due to corrugations. Probably means packing should have been better.

Ive killed a couple of non L series glass over the years. Never with corrugations though, always the desert sand / dust. The sahara seems particularly good a it!!
No issues with L series glass though.

Couldn't say Ive had any problems, camera & lenses live in a camera pack strapped into the back seat. No problems with dust either, everything was covered on the outside (pack etc) but internally camera gear was OK, just be careful changing lenses.

I would recommend Pelican cases; the only issue is getting your camera out quickly enough for those grab shots...
I think lens quality has a lot to do with it.
I've had a couple of kit lenses from 35mm Nikon AF cameras break lately, the zoom seized on both from being not made to last or to get used hard.
I've heard similar problems with current Nikon kit lenses - internal autofocus motor stops, zoom sticks or will only do limited travel.
A camera bag is waht you need and kit lens have only one place, Cash Converters![]()
