My parents have a huge pile of old photographs, negatives and slides that I would love to scan for them, but the thought of doing then one by one turns me off!

Is there any scanner that you can drop a pile of photos in and it will scan them individually (sort of like how with a photocopier you can put a pile of papers in and it copies them all)?
no there is no scanner that you can drop a pile of photos in and it will scan them individually. you would have to use a flatbed scanner.

however i have feeders on my scanner that scans strips and rolls of negative film, aswell as a feeder that scans 50 35mm slides

    see images:

    1st image shows slide feeder
2nd image shows negative roll feeder
3rd image shows negative strip feeder

    hope this helps

I have a Flat Bed Canon scanner similar to the Epson described by ‘lebanon’.
It works well and you can load up to 12 35mm negatives, or 8 35mm slides, or 4 120 negatives at a time. The only real time consuming thing is touching up the photos after scanning with removing scratches and marks off old negatives.
Does anyone know of a scanner that can handle 110 format negatives as my outlaws family history is stored on this format?
