Kaye wanted me to photograph these bushes growing along our drive way today, someone with more horticultural knowledge than me will know what they are.
I sort of got side tracked and ended up doing a comparison between my D70 with its 18-70mm f3.5-4.6G ED DX lens and Kayes D90 with its 18-200mm f3.5-5.6G IF ED lens.

I was pretty happy with this result from the D70.

    D70
    AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm f3.5~4.5G ED @ 62mm
    1/800
    f 4.5
    ISO 200

and even happier with the D90

    D90
    AF-S Nikkor 18-200mm f3.5~5.6G IF ED @ 135mm
    1/640
    f 5.6
    ISO 200

How did you set up and trigger the shot ?

SWMBO actually took this during the day and then did a bit of PP.

She has had a bit of time lately and is trying to learn more about photo shop.

It seems to have lost a bit of clarity on here, though.

Thanks Arthur . It takes a bit more effort with the shorter zoom and less pixels, compared to the D90 which is also faster in focusing and storage than the D70. I like the 'feel' of the D70 better than the D90.

What I was alluding to with the D90 shot and not really obvious in the picture is the 'effect' of the bee floating in space and being drawn into a red vortex along with the seeds which also appear to be floating ( the more wine the better it looks ). A sort of 3D effect I haven't experienced before. I'd like to say I worked for it but it was a sheer fluke.

I agree with Paul, a bit of "clarity' does seem to lost in the uploading process. I'll try and upload the TIF and see if it is any better.

Im very new to this side of the land rover forum, but I love the photos that are posted here. Ive only just got my first SLR so are having some fun.

Taken at Melaleuca Tasmania, far south west on the south coast walk.
Taken very late in the day, light was an issue. Hand held.
Great one week walk. Also saw lots of OBP (orange bellied parrots) and ground parrots, but didn't have the lens for the job.
