    Ok I've sussed it out.

When I click on the thumbnail it opens a new tab with the same thumbnail as the image.
When I click on the thumbnail again, nothing obvious happens until I go back to the forum window again. Then I notice a pop-up window being blocked like so..

When I click on the link, I get separate popup window with this..

    Weird.

I've been playing with panos for a number of years now and offer a couple of general panorama basic suggestions for people with DSLRs.
    • Set manual white balance and turn off auto iso
    • never use a polarizing filter
    • For really wide panos, check exposure /aperture at 90deg to the sun and set this manually then use this all around
    • Manual focus
    • Hold camera in portrait mode
    • Overlap by 30%

Dinner with the wife. Quandong Point, north of Broome

4 images, ISO 4000, D700 20mm lens, 30 second exposures f2.8. 2 stop soft GND to pull the brightness of the fire back. Blended in PT GUI on OS X.
