I've been playing with panos for a number of years now and offer a couple of general panorama basic suggestions for people with DSLRs.
- Set manual white balance and turn off auto iso
- never use a polarizing filter
- For really wide panos, check exposure /aperture at 90deg to the sun and set this manually then use this all around
- Manual focus
- Hold camera in portrait mode
- Overlap by 30%
