Yep, however if i understand the specs correctly the MP is only relevant to the still camera capabilities not the video. Video is measured in fps. I don't think the processor is set up to capture data for 11 MP per frame in video mode. The file would be huge. I have a Canon 7D (16 MP) and shooting in small RAW each photo on average is about 20 MB. Large RAW is over 30 MB per photo. That's a big file and eats storage quickly. Even in JPEG they are large files. The processor in the gopro could not collect, process and store that much data in a video capturing data at 30 fps.Quote:

The other limitation to take into account is the internet. Vimeo converts your video to 26 or 30 fps (I think) and other video and photo web sites will curtail your video/image file in size and quality to meet the portal and download capabilities of the website. Again the Ferrari analogy.

You'll actually struggle to get a Hero 2 now. The Hero 3's taken over and by far the best option would be the silver edition.
With the Go Pro app on your iPhone or iPad you can do settings, adjustments, pre-view videos etc. You also get the remote control which is handy for starting and stopping recordings when its mounted to the bulbar or roof rack.
My other half bought me the black edition for my birthday, but as said before the features are a bit over the top and I'll most probably not use half of its ability.

Don't have i-anything, so the app is useless too me, I have the Hero2 with the WiFi pack, very convenient if the camera is anywhere outside the car, the downside is, it uses a bit more battery time if you use it a lot.
I've been looking at this camera, Magicam, very similar to the gopro, I don't know much about them as yet.

I probably won't be getting an i-anything in the future, so a remote is very useful, I've just read a review on the Magicam and it looks pretty good, and from the review there doesn't seem to be any bad reviews of this action camera so far, so I might give it a go, I'm also thinking of getting the Hero3 Silver edition at a later date, I have the remote from the Hero2 and it can be used on the Hero3 as well so that's good.Quote:
