    anybody try Time Lapse photography

Just thinking that Cyclone Rusty image in the Panorama thread would be awesome in a time lapse.

I just made my first & tried uploading to Youtube where the resultant compressed video was unwatchable so started a Vimeo account & happy with the result.

Not bad for a first effort, Cant wait to get out bush for some star field time lapses. I only stopped it after 1063 frames because my camera battery light started flashing.

    Nice work.

    Get a load of this.

Timescapes Timelapse: Learning to Fly on Vimeo

Gives me chills every time I watch it and reminds me just how amazing the night skies are far away from the light polluted city.

just watched both of those and they are great.
I would love to get into landscape and wildlife photography and i really like the time lapse stuff, but unfortunately a lack of money, some time and mostly skill is preventing that.
    Maybe one day though....

    Thanks for the encouragement.
the timescape.org stuff gave me some ideas, I hope I dont wear out the shutter on my OMD

Doesn't need to be expensive, I just got a Brinno TLC200 in the mail ($220) two days ago, its images are not super crisp but a lot of fun , also easy to mount in (or on) a car (Defender). I just ordered a clockwork Ikea kitchen timer to velcro it on for some 360 deg time lapses.
here is an example from my Brinno , straight off the SD card - no processing needed.

Did you look at any other time lapse cameras before this one?
    Did you get any accessories?
I am just thinking about the wide angle lense and the weather case but then that is nearly another $200 so I don't know.

the Brinno TLC only does time lapses, very easy on batteries but image quality
    is not great,

for not much more $$ a GoPro is worth a look , much more versatile and sharp images but chews the batteries on time lapse.

I have seen quite a few people say go the go pro, but 2.5 hours maximum might be a bit painful but then again i could use it for other things.
I have just seen a few people having problems with the new go pro so that has put me off a bit.
The quailty of yours still seems ok though.

Here is one i did late '11 sunrise over the Annapurna range in nepal looking from the top of poon hill. used my gopro 2 hero. 1080hd (although youtube ruins the quality). I couldn't recommend GoPros enough for the money you pay and the quality you get, and they are bulletproof.
