The photos that I have posted under "Abstracts" are as you call them "tweaked" using diferent techniques with software

The rest NOT they are natural and having only the technique of using the best light and time to take the shot with the corrrect exposure and camera setting.

I do not use a combination of exposures or HRD in my photos.

All the images that are not Abstract have been presented in competitions and forums where all have been aproved. Rest asured that it is impossible to cheat this photographers, they have tremendous experience and know the diferende between a natural and fully processed image.

You are correct Martyn, there is not a processor in a digital camera capable to capture the colors (among other factors) like the human eye, therefore if we will be go strictly by this rule all the images are not natural because we limited the amount of information on it.

There is possible to do some pre shoot work in the field to enhance the image with the purpose to try with the camera to capture more information from the subject and amount this these techniques are light diffusers, artificial light (flash) saturate the subject with water to enhance the colors if there are not wet by rain, etc.

In the case of the above two photos the bark is "saturated" with the humidity caused by the rain and because this trees are with the feet wet for several months of the year. Because this "ecosystem" where they are the bark it is not as we see on the Paperbarks in a dry environment.

There are thousands of these trees along the coast but I only managed to capture 10 images with an area in the trunk that I find very impressive to my taste.

I guess that we can debate this very interesting subject for many month to come and at the end the winning argument will be based pure on taste and perception because we all appreciate nature in a different way.

He certainly avoided the waves after that. He started to wait for the stick to get washed in before going for it.
