Nice selected exposure and contrast of the blue with the red sand.
A simple composition and a very nice image.

Hmmm, direction of the shadows from the Defenders does not seem consistent with the lighting on the clouds. Different times of day and direction maybe...

It is actually a composite image, I just thought I would throw it up for discussion, neither of the original images were particularly brilliant, but I was making a DVD cover for our Madigan trip in 2008.

It's probably suffered a bit as well due to the resizing/compression and then posting to photobucket.

However I suppose that it shows even with my crude photoshop skills what could potentially be achieved.

    Originals

    (both are fairly compressed)

I was expecting the foreground to be very dark as its a sunset image. Doing these types of PP work (like HDR) are hard because the brain is not easily fooled. I did a similar thing with a rock feature, took an underexposed and overexposed shot and merged the sky with the rock... still didnt look right even tho the images merged nicely.

It is possible to have a vertical pano of tow images exposed diferent to have a clear and light FG and then stich a sunset from another image.
The problem is that the reflection of the natural light in the sky have to match the one in the FG or lowe image.
About 2 years ago having nothing to do I selected this 2 images and in PP with lots of filters I added the red reflection from the sky on the water.
It is not easy because also with curves the mood of the sky have to be added to the sea.
Back then with my basic knowledge of PP I come with this image.
This was my last, I do not like this type of work or HRD.

    Cheers
