    Nikon F55

    i have a nikon f55 film slr that has been sitting around for a couple of years, quite surprised the battery still works and has a used film....must get it developed

    Q can the lenses be used on say a DSLR?? i have an AF 28-80mm and AF 70-300mm

    if not is the camera worth anything in this digital age

    Yes, except on the D40, D60, D3000 and D5000, because these cameras don't have a built-in focusing motor for the older AF-D lenses (though you can still use them without AF).

    are crap....soo what does that leave me, i am considering a D60.......budget constraints

    And let me add to that, I assume these are AF-D lenses. If they are actually have the G suffix, then you're fine with any Nikon.

    Sorry, got that wrong, G has the same AF-D autofocus, if it was AF-S you'de be ok. You could go for a D70 or D80 (though not new anymore).

    this is the info written on the lens's

    Nikon AF NIKKOR 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 G
    Nikon AF NIKKOR 28-80mm 1:4-5.6 G

    sadly nothing after the AF

    Yep, sorry, in that case D40, D60, D3000 and D5000 won't do the AF bit.

    I use all my old Nikon 801s on my D200.
    Get a used D200
    or...... let me know how much you want for your old lens

    Ask how many shots it has.
    My as an example have under 6000.
    Life of the camera I think it is 100000 shots
    It is a fantastic camera with sealed body.
