    D60 Manual pics

Heres a few pics I took this morning with Tim at Mt Wellington. Goes to show how ones needs a polarizer and/or ND Grad filter too! Also didnt have tripod, Tim forgot it But had a great morning, beaut weather, great coffee and a top friend to share it with.

Used the manual mode, and had a crack at it. Obviously needed some PP work too... overall from a photographic point of view its disappointing but considering the factors above and that im a complete NOVICE suppose its to be expected.

Next week I get mine, the D80 - so let the fun begin

Lovely shots and brings back memories of weekend walks on top of Mt Wellington.

One trick to getting to terms with the camera is when you have "scene" modes like on the D60 take one in the appropriate mode, note the shutter and f-stop and then try and better it by using manual and its settings as a starting point.

In a morning like that the best photos will be half way up the mountain and take shots of the organ pipes, You can be sure that they will show fantastic shadows and details.
In any case I like the photos and you have done very well with the limitatios in equipment.
A couple of Sing-Ray NG filters which cost more than the D60 and you are in business

The D80 will give you heaps of more options, near as the D200 and then it is only a matter of exploring the possibilities.
