I recently purchased an Equipe 4x4 yellow insect filter for Versalite or similar lights. See here Camping Accessories - Yellow Insect Filters - 4wd Recovery Gear | 4wd Accessories | 4wd Equipment and Camping Gear Australia | Axe and Shovel Holder | Combo Shovel | Synthetic Winch Rope | Camping Lights| Autofridge Eutectic Refrigerators

It cost around $10. It's a flat sheet of yellow plastic, about the size of a business size envelope. It folds and slides inside the plastic tube of the Versalite.

Admittedly, you buy it and think "I paid $10 for that piece of plastic ?" It has instructions on how to modify it for other Versalite copies.

It was easy enough to install, slightly fiddly but OK.

I didn't like the yellow light as much as the white light to eat/cook by, but I run three Versalites outside my camper trailer and the one with the yellow filter did have noticeably less insects attracted to it. There were still insects but I'd say 20% of those on the white lights so quite effective.

I used it as a night light at the CT whilst we sat around the campfire. Still used the other 2 white lights to cook and eat by.

This was done in early May in SE Qld. It would be interesting to see the difference in the summer tropics.

Just in case you were thinking of buying one ...
