One Saul single and woolen blanket on its way.
    Welcome to the club.

Did you get the standard single, or upsize?

Been using one of his double swags for a few years now, better order a single for myself (just in case)
Slept in -7 just recently, nice and warm inside.

My record coldest was -12 in just the bag. But it's one hell of a bag, custom goretex outer, gore treated 100% goose down (even selected the down myself). Record for the swag was a night in kangaroo valley that froze the toothpaste.

Modify swag to be free standing

Though I'd make the swag free standing for those times on hard ground etc.

If you are looking to do the same you'll need 11mm+ diameter fibreglass poles (any thinner and aren't rigid enough for the tension) If you have a single swag you might be able to get away with smaller diameter.

Check with your camping stores to see if they have loose poles, these cost me $1 each. Also grabbed a couple extra to hold up the head flap.

Also used to small "C" end pole parts trimmed down to cup the loops on the swag and pieces of aluminium bar to create the pins... easy to file.

All up the mod cost about $10...

As always here are some pics...

My Saul arrived today. Very nice piece or work! The blanket is of good quality. Lighter than I expected and pretty compact. I'm very pleased

Also turned up was an AOS SPS in a double size (Swag Protection System). Cheapest was from Snowys in SA, then tonight Wild Earth have them on EBay reduced from 119.50 + postage to $107 including postage ... Figures!

The SPS is a nice way to protect the Saul when on the roof, rolls out to be a 3/4 groundsheet, and has more diameter and length than needed so I can add an extra blanket, and/or a thermarest, and even some clothing or towels, and only have to roll it up loosely, with a bit of space in the end of the bag for a pillow and mozzie net and bits and pieces.

Really looking forward to using it.

So, how do you Saul guys make up your bedding ? How do you assemble, or layer your bedding ? This is a bit new to me. Sheets, blankets ... ?
