    Southern Cross.

I have one of their double ones and love it to death. Had it now for about 8 years. Really well made.

I would certainly get the double, it is luxurous by yourself and not too bad with company

Here is a link to their site:

I had an old heavy swag for some years, which I never really liked because of ventilation and on a hot night I would sleep on it, rather then in it.

Last year bit the bullet, and brought a Coolabah Burke and Wills deluxe kind of swag. It has hoops to hold up the canvas. But the main feature I liked about it, is that you can peel back the velco top to a mozzie screen, and have all the heat escape from the top. You can unzip the mozzie protection and enter/exit the swag from the top, rather then crawling through the front. I’ve used at zero temperatures in the forests around Mansfield, and slept in shorts, with a good sleeping bag. ((getting out into the cold, is a chore!))

All in all, I would look for something with insect protection, and lots of ventilation for warm nights. If you pick one up second hand, make sure the original owner had sealed it by the manufacture’s recommendations.

    Thanks guys

I ended up getting a Burke and Wills Waratah thorugh Freedom Camping

    http://www.outfitters.com.au/html/co...__waratah.html

Made in Dandenong Vic using Australian canvas.
I compared the canvas and quality on the Chinese made ones and they didn't stack up. About $100 more for this one but I think it will be worth it in the long run.
Besides, I think we should be supporting Australian Manufacturers.

    Hi waynep

I am borrowing my father in law's Waratah from Burke & Wills and find it excellent. Have used it a few times now in Qld and love the fly screen top entry for the warmer nights. Easy to use and very comfortable.

Roughly $330 for the Waratah...that's what I paid with no haggling but someone on here will have got it cheaper no doubt.
