The Habits of Bush Life and other stuff

The first one, to swing the billy or not? how many swings is too many?
The second, the old leaf in the billy trick, fact or fiction?
The third, Billys, clean them or not? personally I just tip the water out and let them cool down.
Who has the best damper recipe, one that will rise nicely.
Favorite damper topping? mine is golden syrup or jam and plenty of it.
Who has ever used a 2A grille as a grill?
Why dont windproof matches work in the wind.
Why does the zip on the tent always stick when you are busting to splash the boots.
Who taught kangaroos how to open eskys
Who always steals that last beer you swore was in the esky when you went to bed and were saving it for breakfast.
Original spam or spicy? yes I know its bad for me NM.
    Best bush breakfast?
What do you sleep in or on, swags, bags, air mattress etc

Not a good idea as the coating is hazardous to health when heating over a fire and food placed on it.

They reckon the 2,2A were the only 4wds made you could use the grille as a grill, probably work after a while on the fire and it all cooks off

If you spill it - or worse - hit the tent rope - then that is one too many.

The second, the old leaf in the billy trick, fact or fiction?
Jeez mate - even that question is on the new Citizenship Questionnaire - aren't you an Aussie? Of course it is fact.

The third, Billys, clean them or not? personally I just tip the water out and let them cool down.
Hello - it has just boiled water - it is the implement that you are going to boil water in to wash the other dishes

Trust me - 56 chefs will answer this question - I know - check out my recipe for pasta or whatever

Who has ever used a 2A grille as a grill?

Nobody - alive that is. All the old codgers who have used it have gone to Land Rover Heaven and the new Young Guns use Coleman stuff.

Why dont windproof matches work in the wind.
Fair dinkum mate - windproof matches = *******

Why does the zip on the tent always stick when you are busting to splash the boots.
Selleys Ezi-Glide - maintenance man, maintenance - get it

Who taught kangaroos how to open eskys
    That bastard - Crocodile Dundee

Who always steals that last beer you swore was in the esky when you went to bed and were saving it for breakfast.
Your best mate - that's his job

Original spam or spicy? yes I know its bad for me NM.
You are sick, Man - really sick.

    Best bush breakfast?

Ohhh, patience, God give me patience. Tell me how many blokes knock back bacon and eggs, toast, Worcestershire or BBQ sauce and a couple of fried tomatoes - and if they do complain it means that they are on the left-hand side of manhood and obviously have not indulged (refer esky question) enough with the blokes the night before. Easy. .

What do you sleep in or on, swags, bags, air mattress etc
Jocks - gee your mate's missus might see ya when you have to get up in the night - and thongs - bloody bindis and you don't need to bend down to get 'em on - dangerous that
Well there you go - what I'd like to know is how you blokes pack your usual camping gear - boxes, bags - whatever.

The bedding bit is more the type of bedding carried by the masses, 3 corner jacks are nasty thing, any SA person can vouch for them, and the billy, well i think billy develops a mind of its own with tea, the tea out my quart pot is lovely, from a new tin billy its ok, i think the tea does something to the tin over time. Whats wrong with fried Spam? I reckon its yummy on toast with tomatoe sauce. Totally agree with the breakfast, gotta be the classic but throw in a snag or two and a bit of steak. My old man only had one breaky fav when we went camping as a family and that was good old rib sticking porridge, was that thick it was like mortar and usually had sultanas in it, prefer the above breakfast though, even if its a cholesterol monster,

    Best bush breakfast.

Find a Greek cafe and have the mixed grill.

Otherwise if not near a town, try the traditional drover's breakfast. A leak, a spit, a look around, a Havelock Fine Cut roll your own, and a Bundy.
