Front ones were only fitted to HiLine and Vogue models.

The early 2 doors and the poverty pack never had the front ones fitted. By phase 2 (1985) the PovPack could be identified by the manual wind windows.

Front ones have never been legally required.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I was reading something on the Cooper site a while ago and apparently the tread chipping you and I get on the rear tyres is due to stones thrown from the front tyres. I was thinking of adding a mud flap in front of the rear tyres to reduce it. I have already fitted a small one to stop the body mount from filling with mud.

    Doh! It's not that hard!!!!
The easy way to get the front ones off is to carelessly reverse park against a high curb in Balmain...this will neatly remove it and reveal the rust behind that used to be the footwell....

Really? Those nasty front tyres throwing stones at their siblings down the back?

Why do I find this hilarious?

Mud flap repair for RR 101

    Grab stanley knife

Hold offending flap in one hand

Slide knife along top of flap with other hand

    Discard flap

    Put stanley knife back

I only posted it because I always thought chipping was from the extra drive on the back ripping bits off on rocks. My BFG KOs were badly chipped.
I know Coopers have had a lot of FLAK/bad press on this and they spent a lot of time with cameras etc finding out the real reason.
