    fuel economy

been playing with a spreadsheet working out the fuel economy of my new vehicle and comparing it to past experiences.

after about 4000 klms of mixed usage including town and country work and a couple of big trailer hauls (about 600klms) it seems the rangie is getting about 16 mpg.

am running it on gas most of the time with a tank of 98 UL a month is works out a bit cheaper to run than both the 4bd1 and the 300tdi 110's were.

at current fuel prices about $10 per 1000 klms cheaper

    That looks good.
Not sure how anyone has the time to do all that record keeping but glad you did.
Taken you used sample at 11L/100, most tdi's use 9-10, even less with D-gas, I take it the diesel at 10L average is just a tad cheaper.

I guess the convenience of not having to get gas every 300km's is also a bonus for a diesel.
I am only pro diesel now that I have one of course.
    One eyed convert.

Gas is always going to be the most uneconomical fuel in terms of L/100 but is off set due to the low price.
My previous V8's were all on gas and I do remember just loving the fact I could travel 100k's for $10.

Anyhow, well done on record keeping and hope it serves you well.

Could we please refrain from adding shameless plugs on the forum, thanks

LPG is always far cheaper to run, no doubt about it, the big donwside is range, first name basis of the local servo's attendants.....all of them.... is a good sign of it
