    93 RRC Alarm won't disarm?

Locked car using remote but it will not disarm? The battery in the fob seems ok. Unlocked the car using the key and the alarm just goes off. Putting the key in the ignition and trying to turn it on does nothing except setting the alarm off.

How can I disable/fix this? Any advice or reference site would be apprecited.

    It's a 93 RRC

    Cheers.

The "remote antenna" is at the back of the speedo cowling ....

Walk to the drivers side windscreen and "pointing at the speedo cowling" .... press the button and see if the "close reception" will "remote open" the door locks & Disarm it

    Cheers

I caused myself this problem once too. From memory I shut the door and then pressed lock on the fob even though the car was already locked. Then I pressed unlock on the fob and the alarm system deactivated itself like normal and all was ok.

and the other deal is if you have been lately been having to push the Fob button a few times to get the car to lock / unlock ....

that the rubber grommet inside the Fob ... sometimes doesn't line up with the micro switch ... Pull it apart ... move the battery left / right for better contact (Don't remove it) ... reline the rubber grommet ... and then reassemble it

    Cheers

Thanks for the advice. Mike, I think you might be on the money as I have been having to press it a couple of times to get it to work of late. You mentioned not removing the battery from the fob. I actually did when I was checking everything earlier? What does this mean?

    Unsure ......

If you removed the battery and the locks worked .. then hopefully all is OK ...

I'm just very cautious on changing remote batteries ... That's why I mentioned not removing it ... Just slip it around in it's holder ... (so as to get better contact)

I don't know if it loses it's code numbers if you remove the battery ... others will know the answer to that 1 .... You can get the remote back in sinc with the alarm via a method of Key turns ..... Give Scouse a PM

Reason why I know about the rubber grommet and the constant press / press ... is cause thats what I have been through ...

    Have you tried Grumbles Suggestion??

    Cheers
    Mike
