I assume it's an injected V8 going by your user name.
If so, the usual spot is via the scuttle panel & along the top of the inner guard area to the air filter.
Hi,
I am off to the cape in 5 weeks & was wondering if & how a snorkel can be fitted to a 3.5 v8, can it be plumbed around things or does it need to go through the bonnet like camilla ?
cheers Sean

I can't believe how much they want for those things. I bought 1500mm of 3" exhaust pipe and fabricated my own. Wish I could take a photo for you but I'm without a camera- might put some pics up when the new one arrives in the mail.
I mounted a straight section of steel pipe along the top of the guard, secured to one of the bolts that hold the inner & outer guard together. A truck parts supplier had the necessary rubber bends and truck radiator hose. Rather than getting an exhaust place to bend the pipe, I 'lobsterbacked' it; cut sections around the curves and welded it. Came up a treat. Cost around $150 total- including the pre-cleaner on top.
without jinxing the sale I negociated a price tonight of a RRC that has a snorkel fitted.
I will take pics when I can as I pick it up tomorrow but am very busy this weekend, will see how I go for you
the more direct the line of air flow the better for the engines performance.
flexible pipes and lots of changes in direction will reduce the amount of air flow to the engine.
