    Hi,

The Rangie has a 2 inch body lift & susp lift, maxi drive rear locker, snorkel, long range tank, dual battery system, rear draws, roof rack, uhf, bull bar, spotties ect .

For the trip i put in new OME shocks, the long range tank, snorkel & roof rack.

I had a fuel range of about 750kms which just cut it.

I took heaps of spares but luckily didn't need any, good to be prepared though !

    Cheers Sean

    Hi mate,

I would upload the vid but it's mp4 and wont let me, any ideas ?

I have a 131 litre long range tank and 1 20 litre jerry can.

The only time i used the jerry can was on the leg between Karumba and musgrave station.

We had to go the longer way due to the owner being stuck in his own crossing ( mitchell river) otherwise it would have been fine.

Also on my way home from Bamaga to Musgrave i ran out 10 kms before musgrave for some reason so i put the can in then.

    Cheers Sean

Well i have just returned from Cape York & the Rangie did it with ease.

We went up from Gosford via Lightning Ridge across culgoa Nat park to Eulo QLD, Thargominda, Windorah, Longreach, Julia Creek, Normanton, Karumba, then up to the Cape via the Weipa & then the O.T.L.

The Rangie was the only vehicle in my group that didn't need a snatch & made Gunshot no probs !!

It was also the only rig that didn't break something !! Although i do have a auto trans issue now home ( will fix no probs ).

I was getting between 18 & 21 litres per 100k depending on how i drove.

All in all it was an awesome trip & i loved sticking it to the toyota & nissan drivers up there !

I drove back by myself over 5 days which was eye opening but fun.

    I will post pics soon.

    Cheers Sean
Congrads mate!! Glad to hear it went really well - Kinda wanting to do the same with mine now!

    Do it Do it !!

The only issue i have is that i may have cooked the Auto.

On my second morning driving home it got stuck in first for a few hundred metres then clicked in to gear & was fine all day.

This happened every morning after but it got me home !!

I have had different advice ranging from change the oil to it needs a rebuild.

Might do a bit more research on that one.

    Cheers Sean

Hey, although ive never done it myself, apparently you need to convert your video from the current mp4 format to mpg, avi or mov before trying to upload it to youtube..
I have found a video tutorial on how to do this -- [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex0c8KbhOOI"]YouTube- Convert MP4 to MPG[/nomedia]
cant wait to see some footage!

    Cheers.

With where you have been you probably have water and crap in the auto fluid. Start with an oil change and see how it goes.

You could save yourself the cost of a rebuild and at worst you lose the $50 for the atf.

well done btw it is one of the things on my bucket list right up there with lychfield NP

Cool, i was there by myself and they waved and then pulled up next to me at Longreach.

I didn't see many Landy's in my trip but every one i did see gave a gig wave.

    Gotta love that.

Now ive just gotta work on making my navara a defender !!
