    1990 RCC steering box leak

I bought a project Rangey and it's leaking from the input shaft seal.

Is this a hard job to do or is it easier an cheaper to replace the entire unit?

    Many thanks as always!

Apart from difficult access, it's a fairly straightforward job.
You might find it easier with the box out & on the bench if you don't like working in tight spots though.

I'm pretty handy with the spanners so if it's a do-able job I'll give it a crack.

What's the worst that could happen?

It leaks again just like mine.
Phillip A has done his and did up a good report from memory
Its a pig of a job while in sityu as the seal has to be pushed in the right spots to go in properly. Or you could hire a contortionist
I would take it out as its probably quicker in the long run.
After mine started leaking again after 10000ks I put in a new box.
