Transient Audio Thumps In Rear Speakers
Setup: '93 RRC with Eurovox 9280 head unit + 10 stack CD player.
Problem: Spurious transient noise at both ceiling rear speakers. Seems to occur only when mobile and most oddly, remains even when the radio head unit is turned off!
Note: The front speakers and the main woofer in the load area are okay.
Attempts: While intermittent connection failures can be suggested, all visible wires and connectors were tested (tugged, pushed, pulled etc) at the rear of the head unit and at the speakers, which did not produce the noise.
I am wondering if there are intervening amplifier(s) between the head unit and the speakers and if so, where are they. A wiring schematic would be most useful but to date unable to locate one.

To Complete The Story
For too long have I put up with half a sound system so today I put in a full day tracking down the cause of my non-working rear speakers.
The problem was finally exposed as a wire shorting to GND. In particular the Orange/Black wire that goes to the rear left speaker. The loom carrying the rear speaker wires makes a right angles turn and goes up the front left pillar.
The short was at the right angle. This caused the power amplifier to shut down affecting both left and right rear channels.
Seems over the years rubbing of the insulation finally broke causing a permanent short. The audio thumps I heard was momentary shorts as the insulation wore thin.
My driving pleasure has been somewhat uplifted.
