Thread: Best tyres for 94 softdash on Air ?

I can't imagine why certain tyres wouldn't get along with air suspension.

However, I will put a vote forward for Pirelli Scorpion ATR in 245/70 16 for your RRC.

I have them fitted to mine (coil sprung) and they have been very good for me.

My driving is a bit similar to yours, so I would expect them to work well for you.

I have had a dream run out of Bridgestone 604Vs All Terrain Desert Duellers in factory standard 205 x 16 size on my RRC 94 soft dash EAS LSE. Great ride and grip with no tyre noise on the bitumen, gravel roads and bush touring. see here - 604V

Bit of a tip here - keep rotating your tyres to maintain an even wear rate as the RRC is a constant four wheel drive and the transmission likes all tyres to wear at the same rate and be the same circumference.

The other thing is that no matter what tyre you fit keep to or exceed the Landrover Load Rating for your Rangie as per the tyre placard under the bonnet - insurance companies like this.

I must admit on my RRC 94 the Michelin XPC's were best tyres I could have hoped for.
Even on my other RRC's they were gold.
Pity they stopped them.
Vote also for the Scorpion or the Coopers LT ATR but in 235 or even 225 rather than the wider foot print.

Big tyres== more drag more fuel, noise and wear etc.

My Coopers have now done 40k km's and are 30 % worn.
My mates have them and love them just make sure its the LT.
One has chipped and was replaced No questions asked.

One friend has Scorpions on his Pajero and swears by them but they do wear quicker.

I recently fitted Bridgestone D694 245.70x16LTs to my 92 Coil sprung RRC.(about 5K ago with quite a bit of dirt)
They were cheapest by a long way, and I am really pleased with their performance . They are really quiet and give a soft ride and have good wet performance and good grip on dirt.
So far so good.

We have D694s fitted to one of our work utes and they didn't inspire me. I found them to be hopeless in mud, although good fun .

It is interesting to compare prices/value for money.

I got a price on those 205R16 Bridgestone 604Vs last month and was quoted $199.00 each fitted with no more to pay and with a major store [Target/Myer] gift card with a credit value of $60.00 direct from Bridgestone as a bonus. Great deal!

Nice to know they are available............were they discontinued for a while?

Have a set on my RRC 31x10.5x15. Fronts are 40 to 50% worn, rears only about 20%. Over 60,000km, could be over 70,000. Bit of road noise due to the width I think.

Front wear due to slotted rotors only on that end, were wearing evenly all round before rotors went on. Swapped rear to front about a week ago and wheel balance is still really good.

Not the most high tech tyre around, but will be using them again.

Hey?? Different brake discs are wearing your tyres out? Doesn't sound right to me.
