The soft dash has a lot of sentimental value to me and to be quite honest it isn't in too bad condition to start with besides the rust and the roof and quite a few dents and scratches but the more important non superficial things are good having a strong beefed up auto, near locker and it's mechanically pretty good besides a few leaks considering it's 250,000km old.
Should I get the rust repaired in the sills, front floors and bulkhead repaired and just put it all back together or find a donor to use its body, I would assume trying to find a classic without any rust almost impossible and for me to get another good soft dash will probably cost me more than repairing this one, I'm sick of looking at it and just want it fixed, if I were more confident with my welder I'd give it a go myself but I know I'll make a mess of it.
Should I just get the rusty bits fixed or get the whole lot repaired properly, I plan on keeping for a long time if I go ahead?
