I would check the battery terminals and where the earth attaches to the body , motor etc.
Secondly look at the fusible link which is inside tape? or cloth on the small wire from teh + AFAIK. Mine has never given trouble. But if the starter is not operating properly the odds are an earth or + fault.

i did a u bolt and headed for home . i tried to start it just then and it sounds like the starter motor isint engaging the solinoid seems ok could this cause the engine to black out while driving or is it a deeper electrical problem
any advice would on where to start would be helpful. thanks tony
