    after market wiring loom

Hi all, just wondering if anyone out there in Rangie land knows if you can purchase after market wiring looms for a classic. If specifics are needed, a 76 to be exact. Thanks on advance,

    Cheers and drive safe, Jock

Autosparks UK does looms for classics. But it's a bit difficult as there were so many different specs you could get. e.g. they don't do one for my 82 2 door, as I have twin interior lights, rear fogs and a/c.

The other option, which I am doing, is fitting a completely different type of loom all together. The original loom is crap and so is the layout so a more modern design and manufacture can be used. I'm using a painless wiring loom from the US, each circuit is fused, unlike the lucas one which only has 3 fuses But to fit this is a bit of work as you have to rethink the way the whole thing works.

Agreed. An generic aftermarket loom would be the best way to do it if you are not up for re wiring it from scratch yourself, but even doing this will require some electrical knowledge, and quite a bit of time, but they do come with diagrams and instructions, so it would be a bit easier this way. And there will always be plenty of folks here on the forum ready to answer any questions you have along the way.
