Cool Doing a misers challenge to the cape, need a few bits

    Hi all,

    I'm doing the Cape in a $900 1987 Rangie

The idea is that we buy, build and register the truck for under $3k, so I'm chasing a few parts, not free....but second hand/cheap/paid for with beer type of stuff, and I was wondering if anyone could point me at some of the bits?

    I need:
    Bullbar to suit 87 highline
    Long range fuel tank
    roof rack
snorkel, although I tihnk I'll make one

I might also need the following, but I haven't diagnosed it as yet, will do this weekend:
LT230 t/case and or ZF trans.

If anyone knows or one being wrecked, or parts anywhere, or a good source of parts that would be great.

    I'm in Sydney.

Thanks in advance.....and wish me luck

Is this part of the overlander Bunch, is this that DI ?? My brother might have a spare bull bar, but it would cost more in freight from tassie that it's worth.

Ah ha, much as i've not been active over there, it is the same DI! Wish I could be doing the trip as well

    DI,
dont have any bits you mention but if / when you need a workshop and space up north give us a yell.
In Cooktown, got plenty of bits lying about and the space and gear to keep a clunker heading north or south!

Hey Steve, thanks a lot mate. No doubt it is WHEN as opposed to if

Apparently I have cousins in Cooktown....the Butlers. If they're like me, then you've probably banned them from the workshop

I might grab a number off you before I go....I reckon by the time I get to Cookie the rangie will need kickin'

Have a pair of roof bars if Rangie roof is narrower than Defender.

Dunno when I'm next in Toongabbie, but.

    Cheers
