95 disco gearboxes in RR classic

Hi, I'm currently running looking at buying an R380 and LT230 out of a wrecked 95 discovery to put in my 84 RRC which already has an R380/LT230 combo

Looking at the photos the gearstick/t-case and handbrake levels seem to be different and in different places.

Will i still be able to use these, without modifying the gearbox or interior?

    thanks

Do you have a Defender or Disco R380 in there now? I assume Defender if the Disco one you're looking at is different but maybe not as the V8/R380 Defenders weren't sold here.

The Defender gear lever is further forward but you should be able to change over the gear lever housing sections from each box but you might need to check what's been done to your current gearbox first.

"The gearbox was supposedly new when installed, that's what I paid for, I had it done in 1998-1999 - not sure now - but it cost me heaps (thousands) - and was genuine RR kit from UK I was told "

quoted from owner before me... so it could be the defender one?

Its got a much longer gear lever.
Handbrake lever is in a different spot on the side of the transmission tunnel in mine.

below is photos of mine and the one I'm looking at getting from the interior

Looks like a Defender gear lever in your RR so you should be OK to swap over the gear lever housings.

Are you sure yours isn't an LT77, this came long shift from factory in early RR's, where is reverse positioned on the stick left and up or right and down?

Or its defender stick position R380

Got out to the Wreckers but due to the heavy rain throughout the day I would have needed a snorkel to get under the car. hopefully next weekend. or they put it on the hoist for me which would be better.

Got some pics to me (the untrained eyes) its def a R380

I hope the wreck is a V8 disco, if not you will have to change the input gear and bell housing as they are different lengths in the TDi. (95 disco will be an early R380)
