    Battery light

    Hi all,
To cut along story short I have replaced the Alt and the battery and now the battery light come on when I turn the engine off and take the key out !
    Does any body know why?

P.S. The battery light does go out when I pull the small wire out of the back of the alt,and it goes out when the engine is running normally .
    Im confused..

If the light is on with the key out then it is likely there is 12V at the connector of the alternator. It would indicate a fault in the alternator. Does the light stay on when the key is switched on and engine not running? What brand of alternator is it?

Hi the Alt is a 65amp Marelli ANM009 brand new.
I have just gone out to her and she started fine, so there's power in the battery. The Alt has been on for 4 days but the wire has been disconnected for 3. I will fit the wire back on in the morning and see if the light stays on with the engine not running.
    Any ideas ?
