    Range Rover 93 Shock Rubbers

    Hi All,

Just received my 2 front boge shocks and 2 rear armstrong shocks.
I noticed that that rubbers are a lot smaller in size compared to the ones off the old shocks. The new ones when I tighten seem to touch the metal washer easily and I'm not putting much tension on it at all.

Have I been given the correct shock/rubber combo? Are all the after market rubbers smaller? mmmmmmmm.

    Cheers

    Steve

    Hi Steve

Don't know the answer to rubber size for a 93, ours hasn't arrived yet, hoping for about 2200 tonight, but a week ago I needed a set for the front of the 87, only blue nolathane were available, much smaller and because of the firmness extremely difficult to get the nut started, definitely a two man job, am now researching rubbers to put a set in stock. Have also noticed varying sizes for the lower rear.

    Cheers John

I ended up using the old ones which were still okay but fit nice. But yeah I had to really strain to get the bottom nut on even with the old rubbers. Hope for a safe arrival for your son.

Also when I brought mine home, the drivers side electric seat was stuck in the far back position, so my trip home wasn't the most comfortable. I suggest pulling the ECU out from under the drivers seat and replacing the memory battery when you have a chance in the near future if yours has the memory function. The battery in mine had leaked all over the pcb and damaged it, got it fixed at the local electronic shop but cost me a $150. Oh the list goes on....... but that's another story lol

    Cheers

Does your 93 still have the airsuspension?

    Hi Steve

Thanks for the info, they arrived safely, update posted with the problems that have shown so far.

The air suspension has been removed, no electric seats.

    Nice!!!, only a small list

If anyone is thinking about replacing the front shocks in an ex air suspension RRC, I can confirm that standard Boge shocks will not fit. They're atleast 2"shorter than the airsuspension shocks.......bugger. Looks like I'll have to buy a couple of shock turrets.
