    Interior Light Dome

Has anyone got a good source for the interior dome-light covers in the classic rangie?

Mine have gone brittle and cracked from the heat of the original bulbs. I now run LED's so replacements should last for ever.

    Hi Dougal,

Mine came from CLR in NSW here:

eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d?r

$35 the pair, about the same as from the mother country.

You're not going to like me......

I bought a pair of them, maybe non-genuine, for much MUCH less than that, from

Rovacraft last year when I had my mental aberration...

Yes, LEDs are the way to go... Got mine from Cool Gadgets at the Right Price - Worldwide Free Shipping - DealExtreme and sorry, can't recall exactly WHICH ones they were/are. They're cheap enough to buy several types and see which suits you the best.

One thing to watch with LEDs in the front lamp, is excessive glare into your eyes 'cos they're SO bright !

Dealextreme are great on price, but can be very slow on (free) delivery... Buy in small amounts, and if possible, use a pre-paid credit card or a 'One-Time' CC number. Assume that your C/Card will be misused on virtually any international website.

    Cheers,

    Another 'Classic' sufferer......

My LED's also came from Deal Extreme. The biggest problem with that site is soo much stuff it's hard to find what you actually want.

How did you get the interior lights to work with LEDs? I tried them in my '83 and only the front one would sort of work. I put the old festoons back in and everything was fine. I suspect it was because the LEDs didn't draw enough for the interior light timer switch to work.

Mine worked fine. LED's are polarised though so only work around one way.

These are the second set, the first set I got years ago were pretty woeful. LED technology has come a long way in the last 5 years.

Polarised? Well, the things you learn. I'll have a try. Thanks!
