Maybe it is like my car and the heat shield on top of the muffler has vibrated clear of its mountings and is sitting on the muffler.
(thought I had better post something sensible)

    I know that noise.

I've had and to some extent am still having the same problem in my Rangie Classic. Have a look for a loose backing plate on the brakes and also look for a brake pipe rubbing on the backing plate.

A good test to try and identify exactly where the noise is or isn't coming from is to drive with the window down and when you hear the noise gently hold the brake pedal down whilst maintaining an even pressure on the accelerator. The act of braking will firm up the caliper and if it is coming from a brake then the noise will [should] stop.

In mine new caliper pins, a rubber spacer block and moving the brake pipes fractionally away from the backing plate has reduced but not totally eliminated the rattle.

As PhilipA said - heat shields are agood source of tinny rattles too.

    Hmmm.
On that subject it is VERY common for the LH rear brake dust shield to crack at its mountings. Don't ask me why it is the LH rear all the time.
This can cause a jingling sound. I have rewelded mine with what looks like Chook droppings.

But just to show how cantankerous a Landy can be and how they seem to delight in throwing the odd curve ball my problem is the right hand front caliper.

If the sound vanishes in a month, then you'll know what it was...
