Buggered if I know!
Any clues like where the wires appear to lead to?
Regards Philip A
Hi,
was looking around the 2-door I bought recently (with a 3.9 conversion ) and noticed it has a electric window ecu connected. Not sure what this is being used for, or what it could be used for?
The engine is the serpentine belt version, from a disco I think. Engine ecu is a motec m4.
Any one got any ideas?
Cheers!

I suppose an "electric window ECU",could be used to operate Electric windows !!!!
Does the old 2-door have any electric windows ?Sunroof perhaps,Mirrors perhaps ??
Perhaps its a leftover from some fancy anti-theft immobiliser .What makes it a "ECU" ??? and not just a bunch of switching/timing relays. ??? Jeez, me old D3 has a couple of "ECU"'s but I dont think the fast glass is controlled through a standalone ECU .
Thanks for the replies. It has a sticker that says ' electric window ecu' or similar (will check exact words in the morning). No electric windows, no sunroof, not even central locking.
Will try to trace the path of the wiring if i can. Just find it odd that the previous owner fitted this and was wondering whether it might be there for the engine/ transmission transplant to work properly, but I don't see the connection.
Probably says WIDOW not window , a self destruct mechanism for detecting Liner rattle in 3.9's LMFAO
I was thinking I am telling you by jingo.
That it might be linked to a solonoid to idle up when cold or suchlike, seeing the recent post from ZA had an idle problem with MOTEC.
I will see 400HPongas a sleeve repair and up him a TD5 rebuild fom leaking injector seals.
