    Early Rangie

    Howdy Guys,

I have an early build 2 door 1970/71 which I am restoring. I am trying to replicate the seat trim (moulded PVC type) and was wondering whether anyone knew of anyone who had reproduced them or who had any tired trim which could be used as a template?

    Cheers,

    Sam.

wow that is early, I didnt think that many came in before 74?? Im guessing it has the painted rear panel and metal screw fuel filler cap. best of luck with it. They are a great classic vehicle regardless of brand.

I thought the first ones in Aus were 74 (body number 22 IIRC). could be a private import. some pics would be great.

sorry for a bit off topic, but seems there were some early ones floating about according to this: Range Rover Australia - Range Rover Classic
    1986 Range Rover Hiline
    2004 D2 TD5

    early rr's

Yepthere were quite a few suffix a rangies that came here. Dont see too many on the road these days! I have owned a 72 myself! There were a few 71's to come here but 72's were more common. The suffix a had the painted rear panel and screw filler cap, but the 72 I had had vinyl pillar panel and flip petrol cap, with the horrible, I think it was called "box ambla" seat trim. That I think went out in 73/4' The very first cars had a LSD centre diff only then a LSD with a difflock. Rubber floor mats and no carpet! The 72 I had, had no aircon or power steer, and the original glovebox! I have some new sliding window channels in the shed still!

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm in the process of doing the same.
