yeah the stall is out of a drag car and so is the t400. The t400 is built, fully manualised and all the fruit.

I definitely need to find a stock stall but stockers are harder to find.

Regarding the fuel tank will 1985 fit or did you mean 1985 and under wont?

I dont think the tank out of any of the carbi engined cars will fit .So that limits you to 1986-1990 (Some 86 still have old fill point !) .Be careful as at some point the filler position changed as well 92-93-94 ?

Stock tank will be either steel in the low filler models or plastic for the high filler models. If yours had a steel tank there will be 3 bolt holes for the tank to bolt to the rear rail. Plastic has 2. Plastic tank with high filler will not fit earlier cars without bracket engineering. Carby model steel tank will fit but won't have an internal fuel pump. Both carby and EFI steel tanks have the float in the side of the tank, carby has pickup tubes there too.

Mind you if you are prone to getting carried away with engines etc just buy a long rang tank to match from someone like Brown Davis Automotive.

There is steel, 2 bolt, efi tanks with old school filler, 86 and I think 87, prior to indicator stalk change over

    Hi Adrian,
That 3500 stally out of a drag car probably is rated to a much higher hp/torque engine than the ls1. If you haven't much of a budget I would put it in and try it. It might only flash up to 3000 keeping in mine your tranny will develop alot of heat. Make sure you run a good cooler and temp gauge.

postive: you will take off quicker which the ls1 lacks a little torque it likes to rev
Negative: Heat and ride the brakes more down hills

If its only going to be a bush car try out the stally.

    Regards Paul

It will be a Dog , with absolutely no hill decent control at all. Hes probably going to use the LS1 that came with the box anyway , with a dopey cam for offroad work .Stick to the sand dunes if you want to run that Combo .

    Thanks guys,

No the LS1 is stock as stated earlier. The box came out of a Vy supercharged SS ute.

I am not giong to install the stall. I am looking for a stock one.

The reason for the tank as the one in it now is not standard, is aluminium and now has a leak.

Could someone please tell me how the stock ECU is integrated into the system. Does everything run through it ie. lights, indicators, windows or is it just for motor control?

    Cheers

    Adrian

If you mean the 1990 RRC stock ECU, it controls only injection time and fuel pump operation, nothing else. Not even ignition timing.

Engine ECU requires Vats to be deleted, $450 via marks adaptors, I'm going to be the software and remove VATS for $50 plus postage

Engine wiring loom need to be modified to suit, I do engine looms in the car, for pretty much the same price as this dude, LS1 Holden Chev Generic Wiring Loom Nissan Toyota | eBay

But seeing as your over the other side of the country and I won't do change over looms, would be just as easy to buy a ready made

Thanks. The current plan is to delete the stock ECU altogether.

Currently i have an LS1 ecu and loom out of a drag car and have a workshop to tune it. It is to be stand alone from the rest of the car.

Whats Vats? Can i just remove the stock ECU altogether?

    Thanks for your replys

    Cheers

    Adrian
