i would expect minimal performance loss, more likely a gain...
noise levels maybe quite louder depending on what you remove

Mine RR runs 1 muffer and a hot dog near the tip, and its very nice sounding & not too loud (one of the reasons I went RR was the nice note)

Mine is a straight 3" from the collector back. I used to love the noise but now I am feeling that it is a little too much as anything over a 2 hour journey becomes a little tiring.

I am looking at fitting something to mute the noise a touch....
