    4.4 again lol

Yeah I know it's all been done b4 nd a nice 4.6 ready to go would be ideal but there's a fair bit of money there nd I've got the 4.4with heads all done it used to belong to rob from exit pest control traditional yellow had big redbacks nd bugsstuck over it I see that the head spacers are still in rover craft ads but not the auto adapter so not sure there I guess there's a few options with the mating up .I've got a spare 4.4 pulled down too all good condition for spares. I think the best thing I've got going for me is that it's fitted nd worked prob free in practically the same car so I can sort of copy it across ..hopefully
...just gotta sort my wiring out ...I hate elec stuff ....at least its only one loom nd a relay nd not the controller I think ...why are my replys coming up all bold n stuff

Rangie headers can be massaged to adapt no probs on the floor a engine stand chain or rope sround the block and tighten

    Mod hat on!

Please don't shout when you make posts, it is very annoying to readers.

They are coming up bold and large size because you have font tags active.

I am going to delete your duplicate post.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Hi just reading this old thread and have a question for 400hp. Mate when you refer to fitting a equaliser to the back of the heads is this referring to the coolant, and where the inlet manifold blanks of the ports in the rear of the head?

May not get a response - he hasn't been on here in just over a year.

Only 2 other issues , Replace all the valve springs ,they will be stuffed
They are prome to overheating issues , ensure the block is totally free of scale, and fit a crossover equaliser to the rear of the heads.
Ive done 3 P76 conversions into RRC's (2 of them sleeved to 5 litres),even with a 500Holley ,still cleared the bonnet .Its easy to fit larger inlet valves as well while your at it !never use thaf horrible ww Stromberg,a 350 holley ,suitably modified (baffed float bowl, center hung float, fuel reg) or the 32/36mm of a XF foulcan works well.

Dunno about balancing anything but the best P76 cooling mod I ever built was the bypass thermostat system. You need a suitable thermostat

and a fitting installed under the geometric centre of the thermostat to run the bypass flow to the water pump. You need to make your own fitting at slightly over 90 degree bend as space is limited. I used an offcut of 1/2" galvanised water pipe, cut and welded.. Sorry the pic is poor, I don't have a better one.

Note that there are high flow thermostats and ordinary ones, bigger may be better for a P76.

When the thermostat is fully open the bypass is closed and all coolant flows to the radiator.
