DIY roof rack
I'm going to start making a roof rack for my Rangie soon. Thinking RHS, mainly for ease of manufacture.
Inital thoughts are 30x30x2mm bottom hoop, 25x25x2mm top hoop with 25x25x2mm slats @ 175mm (or there abouts) spacing. 50x3mm flat for spacers between top and bottom hoops. 6 or 8 legs onto rain gutters.
Going to make bottom hoop around 1900mm long, top hoop 100mm shorter, but undecided on width as yet. Currant rack is 1500mm wide but was thinking of dropping this back to say, 1400mm wide. Brackets on front for a few extra spotties and a couple of LED work lights for the rear.
Any thoughts or hints (also pix) would be great.
Cheers
Rick

Hey Rick,
Was thinking of doing the same until I checked out Tigerz website, easier to buy one of theirs & modify if you need to as prices are well worth it. Nothing to lose by taking a look.
Whichever way you go good luck.
