ah i see what you mean , you may well be right there about the reasoning re d1 phillip. however, sherwoods were only released in aus iirc. no air susp, or abs. several of my custmoers have 1990 vogues etc i don't think hey have load levellers but must check that out...

Justin you are entirely correct.
Sherwood was an Australia only model.

In the US the stripper was called "Hunter"
But my 1992 Vogue certainly has a load leveller, and unless you got yours new I am sure that someone has taken yours off.
Really until air suspension,from 1989 on the BW transfer and load leveller were signature features of Range Rovers and the Sherwood would have been what in the industry we called a "Mid Model Kicker" by making a special model by just optioning up cars from factory and then adding badges.
I did this in BMW to make the "JPS" BMW 323 and the BMW 323 Motorsport ,the BMW R100S "Outback Pack" and the BMW R100S "JPS" .All wer ebuilt standard in teh factory and modified here, but a distributor would NEVER delete a standard feature.
