Exactly Beeutey , looking at that coil lead ,coli ignition wires ,coil , he probably going to be for more trouble soon !(PS how does a wire get off ,unless you mistakeningly knock it off , wasnt me! LOL)
That's the wire that feeds the engine firing signal to the ECU. The relay shuts off the signal during over-run, via a vacuum switch on the rear DS of the engine. No wonder it didn't run!

Is it feasible that this relay could just give up? I just set off up the street tonight and the engine just died and refused to start, similar symptoms but all wires are still attached.
Then I ask, "Did you check for spark?" Until you know what is missing, IE injection, fuel pump or ignition, all guesses are equally valid.
The relay isn't under much load, it is unlikely to fail, although the vacuum switch that controls it could. That is on the drivers side rear of the inlet manifold, and has 2 wires and a vacuum hose connected to it. It switches off the relay under high vacuum when you decelerate. Bridge the two wires together and it won't cut out under decel or if the vac switch is faulty.
Replace your Rotor in the dissy with a genuine one only nothing else but genuine. Mine did this t me some years ago, no warning just died. It is a common problem.Of course there are many other things as well but that is definitely one of them for that symptom.

There's nothing better than taking something apart that you know does not work and finding something wrong. The wire in the epoxy on top of the fuel pump had broken off and shorted out, wire replaced and pump works again. Quite lucky really, after checking the the fuse's the previous owner had put a 30 amp one in for the fuel pump.
