if they are still standard RRC diffs and axles I'd be thinking of an upgrade given the power and torque that 351 will be putting out. I went with Maxi Drive lockers, axles and drive flanges f & r and Ashcroft CVs and one piece cross shaft in the trasfer - expensive I know but has been reliable for 5 years. The Xeng disc has been good too.

Yeah Nick, They are standard and I don't even know if they are 24spline or 10spline yet. Someone told me how to tell by looking at the drive hubs but haven't removed a wheel yet.
Are these Maxidrive lockers just like a Detroit locker or are they switchable?
I was looking at KAM stuff.

I think yours will have 10 spline. MaxiDrive are vacuum operated but are no longer available although (MR in QLD may be making them again but I havn't enquired) there is a rear one in the markets section at the moment. The guy who used to make the axles for MaxiDrive is still making them under the HiTough brand. I'd have a look at the Ashcroft selectable locker if your considering it but depends if you want an auto locker then maybe a Detroit for the rear to start with. You will definately need better axles which ever way you go.

Ok the suggestion I've had is that '93's have 24 spline. I'll find out soon enough I suppose.
I was thinking of an LSD for the rear and a switchable locker for the front.
Plus a Quaife torsen type centre diff. I thought about pegged diffs from Ashcroft or KAM.

Sounds like a good set up with LSD in the back and selectable locker in the front, I've read a few posts from guys that are really happy with that set up but I've never tried it so will wait for others who have to suggest the best options. The Ashcroft locker looks really good but not sure about the Kam set up. I think that Andrew at LRA sells them. From what I've seen, you need to do a bit of cutting and welding to fit the from cover and solenoid.

It seems the logical way to go to me(LSD rear locker front) but are any of them using torsen rear diffs? Maybe it's a good idea to use torsens everywhere? Yeah i see the cutting required with KAM stuff. We have gotten off the shock topic haven't we Nick? ah well

So many things to do on a project like yours it easy to get off track!! I saw some RTE suspension parts on the markets section that would be perfect for the Bilsteins, not sure if they are still available though.

Thanks Nick,
I ended up buying ordinary coil sprung Billies from Famous 4 with a bunch of other parts. Mainly because I gotta get the damn thing going and this will be quicker. I might revisit this again later.
Cheers,
Pete.
