    76 Rangie lost park lights

    Hi,

Have brake and indicators, but no park lights front and back. Checked fuses, all okay.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    X2.

Hopefully you can salvage/recondition the switch... (never pulled one apart so dunno...)

    - Have you run your headlights through relays ? - Good idea for extending the life of your dying switch. Even a new one.

Sounds like the parking circuit is a bit much for it...

Thumbs up Hope I can help u :-)

    I have been were u r :-)
OK the switch can be pulled apart and contacts cleaned it is fiddle but doable.
I had a 2 door 1974 and it did the same thing.

Disconect the batt 1st :-( i forgot and blew a fuse. there are three on the bulkhead under the bonnet behind the washer bottle, but I assume you have tested these.

I would replace all fuses first. they can be ok but fail under load??
I would also clean the contacts they are seated in as they proved to be a problem on my 74??
This is when i would strip and clean the switch. LAST hey :-)

    Hope this helps u out.
    Cheers

The switch is a pretty simple plastic body with contacts moulded into it, not really recondition-able, though I have using rivets to make new contacts and strips of aluminium as conductors.
