realistically the cost of converting a classic to any diesel would be not viable, I have done it and it always ends up costing you more than the car is worth. Its the little things like getting aircond pipes made up and power steering hoses that blow the budjet. When you look at a D1 now days they are so cheap even a real good one is not going to cost much and they are a better car than a classic rangie. IE 5 speed 380 box, instead of the 4 speed, 4 bolt steering box instead of the 3 bolt, dash that doesn't fall apart, Better seats, back door that doesn't let in bucket loads of dust, If you like the 2 door rangie as a classic then your better off keeping it original anyway. Just my opinion for what its worth.
