    RRC Mags

    G'day,

Looking at getting some different wheels for my '93.
These are 17x8.5". what size tyres would you use with these without having to chop up guards or anything?
I think mine already has slightly lifted King springs in it?(how do I tell?)
I've seen some with 35x12.5 on them but that sounds a bit big.

    Cheers,
    Pete.

Kings Springs are yellow for a start....

For the last maybe 5+ years they have a small black description code printed on them - before that for a few years they had tags which did seem to last a while so wipe the dirt off and have a look and see if there are any of these indications...

otherwise blue are lovells, pale sickly blue are dobinsons

... others hopefully will add further info

    35's = some cutting I had 2" body lift & 2 1/2" spring & still had to trim
back of front guards & front of rear doors mainly..

    wheels look very nice !!

    Cheers Lads,
I should clarify. I know they are King springs already and they do have a tags which are difficult to read. I think they only denoted which side was which not their height.
So is there a max tyre height you can get away with?
Can you tell from this pic if it looks higher than normal?

2"spring and 2"body lift you can get 33"on or 255/85

You can run 32"with just a spring lift but its getting close

    Here 2"spring and 2" body 235/85 tyres

Here 2"spring and same tyres no body lift

Also think about brake lines as well I have +2inch but will go to +5 in the near future

    Cheers agro, good info!
Just comparing your pics to mine it appears that mine is about half the height from the centre of the wheel to the body. This would likely mean that mine has 2" spring lift. It certainly doesn't have a body lift.

265/70/16's ....(or just a tad under 31") will fit OK and not cause any cutting of guards ....

    I've got Federals 265/70/16 A/T's on my ride .... 4 ply side walls .... $230 fitted

BTW .... your build thread looks just AWESOME!!

    Thanks Mike!

The ones on mine currently are 245/70x16. So 265/70x16 would be 371+406=777mm? So if I add 25mm to the wheel diameter the tyre would have to be something like a 265/65x17?
What is your suspension height Mike?

I run +200kg OME springs in the rear of mine and before the body lift it was 500mm from centre of rim to bottom edge of guard if that helps any
