Very early on I chickened out of using the fob, as IF it dies after you've locked it, you can only physically unlock the doors, - but not switch off the immobiliser. - that last bit is a worry...

    - So I take the safer option and use the key.

However, I'm having some door-actuator problems now. First off, the main 15A fuse blew a few times. I reckoned it was the LH Rear actuator (sounded slow to move) so I disconnected it. Problem seemingly solved.
The LH Front door snip now comes all the way up (unlocks) whereas previously I've had to lean across and lift it up that last 1/4 mm, usually ...

But now my RH rear actuator appears to have died... Maybe co-incidence, maybe not.

I've read somehwere on this or another forum that the units are 'underpowered' for the load and therefore failure is not uncommon. They certainly don't sound as fast as some other - cheaper - vehicles....

My tailgate one is working properly, but the internal mechanism is so rusted out that I've always had to manually lock.unlock it.

Using the key, mine flashes indicators once for UNLOCK, and three times for LOCK

    James.

Sort of suspected something was afoot when I learnt of the massive price hike of R134a. Don't know about the ADRs, not my worry anymore, you're right can't have something cheap, abundantly available and seems to do the job as well or better encroaching on their niche market.

Apologies for the Superquad instead of Superquag

The standard refrigerant was R12. This is a CFC refrigerant that eats the ozone layer, which results in sunburn and skin cancer. But it was a very good refrigerant.
The replacement for that was R134a which isn't as good at being a refrigerant, but doesn't eat the ozone layer in the same way.

The hydrocarbon refrigerants are cheap, are as good at being a refrigerant as R12 and don't eat the ozone layer at all.

My car and I have co-existed in this fashion for a while now and now that I know what it likes we are both generally happy.

    Hi Richard93Vogue

Mine works in the opposite direction to yours, locks then immediately unlocks leaving the alarm activated, next push of the button same action but all is disarmed.

#1 daughter has pointed out that during this action the NSP door remains unlocked, tried a manual movement on said lock button, firmly fixed in the unlocked position, soon as time allows I will strip the door and take a look see.

    Will post results

    Update

After removing all the door cards and observing the lock actions I found that the passenger door actuator was throwing in and out rather than remaining in the in position.

On inspection I found the pivot point for the lock button was quite stiff, application of a little wd40 freed it up nicely and wallha the locking system works perfectly with both fob and key.

The only problem, well not really a problem, is that the blinkers don't flash on locking but do flash once on unlocking, I can live with that.

    Cheers Jhonno
