    TPS flapper/hotwire

    Hi guys,

the red wire on my TPS has broken right at the sensor, so I was going to just order a replacement... $300 + GST. I think I'll try and fix it.

I have a TPS from a hotwire setup, the only external difference I can see is the hotwire one isn't adjustable & the code on the second line is different (there at hoem so I can't remember the numbers).

Can I use the Hotwire TPs in the Flapper setup without any worries, or does anyone have any ideas for rejoining the wires.

Ant TPS is just a "volume knobl" in that it is a variable resistor, so you should be able to use it no worries.
You can get a file and elongate the holes , if you want to set the idle voltage.
I am not sure whether the wire colours are the same but they should be.

Remember a flapper TPS is getting pretty old now and is the item in the injection most prone to wear.

    Good day Brendon,
    Just noticed your post.
If you haven’t sorted out the issue with your TPS yet, I have one that I was keeping as a spare for my ’86 Rangie which had the L Jetronics flapper EFI.
I have since sold that Rangie and bought a 95 4.6l P38 so have no further need for that part. It is in good condition with a smooth sweep.
I would sell it for $30 plus postage if you are interested.

    Cheers
    Richard.
